NEW YORK, Dec 20 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve said it added permanent reserves to the banking system on Monday by buying U.S. Treasury securities dated from January 15, 2000 to June 30, 2001, for delivery on Tuesday.

The Fed said there were two exclusions, a 7-3/4 percent issue maturing 1/31/2000 and an 8-1/4 percent issue maturing 5/15/2000 through 2005.

Bids from dealers were due by 11 a.m.>>
