We watched "Its a Wonderful Life" last night, one of the most searing films in the "canon", however happy the ending. If I can just catch "White Christmas", and maybe "Miracle on 34th Street", I will be pretty happy...........Of course, there are others, like "Meet Me in St. Louis", or "Scrooged", but I must see "White Christmas"!

The children seem to enjoy the fact that we rarely travel on holidays anymore and that we have established our own traditions for celebrating at home. Picking movies is more a function of wading through the morass of crap Hollywood pumps out and reconciling the divergent interests of the two siblings. I understand your point on leaving home and that certainly was the case for me. JLA
