Ericsson, Gateway, Hitachi, Office Max & RSA Place Online Ad Campaigns With EarthWeb's Network of Internet Sites

Leading Business-to-Business IT Hub Grows Advertiser
Base Across Major Industries

NEW YORK, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- EarthWeb (Nasdaq: EWBX) announced today that its advertiser base has grown in the third quarter of 1999 to include over forty new advertisers that include a wide range of companies across major industries, from consumer and finance to publishing and high-tech. Companies such as Ericsson, Gateway, Globix, Hitachi, Office Max, Pacific Tech, RSA Security and John Wiley have placed online ad campaigns with EarthWeb's network of online services.

"This most recent expansion of our advertiser base is significant because these new advertisers are in major industries from which we previously have not seen advertising commitments," said Bill Gollan, Senior Vice President at EarthWeb. "Because the EarthWeb brand is totally committed to and focused on the IT industry, these advertisers are choosing to target their online campaigns to IT professionals through our network of online services, including datamation.com and developer.com."

The new advertisers, whose campaigns are displayed throughout EarthWeb's network of online services, expand EarthWeb's roster of advertisers for its content areas and bring this customer base to over 300, compared to 175 at the end of 1998. Other EarthWeb advertisers include Adobe, Bell Atlantic, Comdisco, Eastman Kodak, IBM, MCI, Microsoft, Net Bank, Sprint and Sun Microsystems.

"Advertisers now see the strong value proposition of the IT business-to-business market, and EarthWeb is positioned with a clear focus and link to millions of IT professionals and billions of IT dollars," Gollan added.
