BTW best of luck in the new century... iPlanet is a comprehensive framework for integrating data, transactions, web operations, and a host of other e-commerce capability under a common, and compatible, development and deployment middleware architecture which allows relatively seamless integration of existing and new components. It is similar to IBM's WebSphere. HP has also proposed a framework like this called eSpeak but it is not "reality" yet. iPlanet is the most comprehensive and complete of these offerings and is a key part of SUN's strategy to develop and maintain architectural dominance in the e-Commerce space.
