Lambda Physik Ships Fifth 157nm Lithography Laser Monday December 20, 1:39 pm Eastern Time Company Press Release SOURCE: Lambda Physik FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Lambda Physik, a majority owned subsidiary of Coherent, Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR - news) and the leading supplier of 157nm laser technology, announced today it has shipped its fifth 157nm NovaLine® lithography laser for process development and material characterization. The F 1000 laser (1 kHz repetition rate at 10 mJ per pulse) was delivered to a leading technology consortia and has proven to be the workhorse for material testing and process studies at 157nm. ''Lambda Physik has been supplying lasers to the scientific market for over 10 years which led to an installed base of more than 100 F2 lasers worldwide '' said Dr. Dirk Basting, President of Lambda Physik. Lambda Physik's early breakthroughs in laser performance at 157 nm triggered numerous projects and partnerships and resulted in significant progress in the development of future generation F2 lasers for lithography. The latest results include the demonstration of stable operation at 2kHz and 25 W output power. The research is part of a German-funded 157 nm project, where Lambda Physik is partnering with ASM Lithography Holding N.V. (Nasdaq: ASML - news), Carl Zeiss, Schott ML JENOPTIK LOS GmbH and Infineon Technologies AG. Lambda Physik is the worldwide technology leader for pulsed UV and tunable laser sources for scientific, medical, lithography and other industrial applications.
