It allows you to buy a 12 month LEAP for twice the time premium of a 3 month call.

Dead on, codowg! That's why I characterized LEAPS as a poor trading vehicle in an earlier post.

That was an airball, codowg. I described LEAPS as Michael Ewing and calls as Spud Webb (big time till expiry vs. short; get it?).
