Research In Motion supplies BlackBerry Wireless email to Credit Suisse First Boston

BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds Are Used By CSFB Professionals
To Manage Email And Personal Organizer

WATERLOO, ON, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM,
TSE: RIM) today announced it is supplying BlackBerry Exchange Edition to
Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). Over three hundred wireless handhelds have
already been deployed to employees in multiple offices. CSFB plans to continue
deploying BlackBerry Handhelds and BlackBerry Enterprise Server to additional
business units and employees throughout the upcoming year.
BlackBerry provides the investment firm's employees with secure, mobile
access to their corporate email, contacts, calendar and task list, and allows
them to stay connected and productive through a solution that addresses the
needs of both users and the IT department.
"I've been using BlackBerry for several months and it has dramatically
impacted the way I manage my email," said Frank Quattrone, Managing Director
and Head, CSFB Technology Group. "My communication is predominantly
time-sensitive, and I can respond to colleagues and clients quickly and
efficiently with BlackBerry. I don't need to wonder and worry about a growing
batch of unread messages waiting for me at my desk."
"World-leading organizations like Credit Suisse First Boston are
embracing BlackBerry as a communication and productivity tool," said Mark
Guibert, Director of Marketing at Research In Motion. "Credit Suisse First
Boston began working with RIM shortly after the launch of BlackBerry. They
recognized that BlackBerry could deliver immediate benefits to their
organization through improvements in productivity, workgroup collaboration and
client responsiveness."
MediaServ Inc., an authorized BlackBerry Solution Provider, has worked
closely with RIM and Credit Suisse First Boston to support the deployment of
BlackBerry Handhelds and BlackBerry Enterprise Server. MediaServ offers
eBusiness solutions to a variety of industries including Financial Services,
Telecommunications, Consumer Goods and Services, Manufacturing and Retail.
RIM's BlackBerry solution includes a powerful wireless handheld with
integrated email/organizer software, PC docking cradle, innovative desktop and
server software, single mailbox integration and flat-rate nationwide airtime.
It features an end-to-end security system whereby all corporate email remains
encrypted at all points between the desktop PC and the BlackBerry Handheld,
meeting standard corporate security guidelines. The "push model" of email
delivery that BlackBerry provides does not require the user to dial-in or
initiate the connection, so users receive notification as a new email arrives
and can respond promptly. BlackBerry Enterprise Server allows centralized
administration, increased scalability and enhanced performance for corporate
environments.
