This really is the week to buy. Haven't seen this many bargains since October. And of course I'm talking about the tax-selling victims, some of them stellar companies. All of them already oversold but dipping lower, sometimes for just a few hours.

Here is what I am doing and I'm sure it's going to make me excellent profits. I also feel safe doing it. I am following some 30 beaten-down stocks, about 15 which I already own. I double down and buy new positions as they dip down to my bargain basement limit buy orders. I figure there's almost no downside left when my orders fill at these levels. In some cases however I will buy at market, like when I saw JNJ at 90 3/4 this morning. Had to snap that up.

My kennel includes: ANF, UIS (breaking out), BEBE, EGRP, SCH, IFMX (rising above dog level now), XRX, TYC, HSAC, PLCE, MRK, URBN, KMAG, HDD, WDC, BSX (good news started moving), MXTR (great news, still low), CPQ, IMRS, IBM, EGGS, ETYS, ATHM, HAS, TSK, ISIP, BNBN, COOL, HMTI, LLY, LE, CPU, CDNW, HAL and some banks.

Dogs I wish I had held longer - PSFT, INTC

Sector I'm glad I liquidated two weeks ago - e-commerce, but it's looking so cheap now it's got to pop back.

All of these stocks are 30-70% below their 52 week highs and are currently on sale via tax-selling or sector suspicion or some SEC violation or whatever. SEC violations make the best buys IMHO. heh heh

Bottom-fishing anyone? SHould be very profitable come the January effect thaw.

SHould we worry about Y2K? No way, load up now and hold right through it. Let the scaredy-cat Johnny-come-lately bargain hunters buy your shares in early 2000 for 20-100% more than you paid for them. heh heh

PS - I also buy high-fliers but only when they stop high-flying for awhile. My last was CMGI when it fell to 91. Should have liquidated and margined to the gills on that one. Got 68 points in a week and still left 50% on the table. Oh well. But who owns 20% of CMGI and is still down at its base? Duh. Hoping CPQ dips more to load up fully.

PSS -Quiz - which of the above stocks will rise 20% or more within three-four weeks? Answer: all of them probably.

PSSS - Which of the above stocks will rise the most?
(I have no idea either)

PSSSS - Rande I bought ESHR. Thought you were in it. C'mon, where's your mojo? I have a feeling about this one though I don't usually buy such stocks.
