<How can they say Intel takes back the speed crown when AMD never produced?>
<has anybody even seen a Athwipe 733 advertised anywhere?>
No one. Because Athlon-733 does not exist or
was ever planned. 733= 5.5x133MHz

Never produced? You must be confused
with availability of Floppermine-733, pal.

Go better check what was produced and what was not.
For example:

microx-press.com
PENTIII 733 - "not available"
PENTIII 700 - "not available"

PENTIII 600 - 1307 in stock

Maximum distribution is at PENTIII 500E - 2936
in stock !!!

And compare:
microx-press.com
AMD K7 650MHz - 390 in stock
AMD K7 700MHz - 586 in stock
AMD K7 750MHz - ETA02/01

Once again: K7-700 in stock, PIII-700 - "not available".
So, who has produced, and who has not?

RE <<<why not, since words is all the produce anyway, has anybody even seen a Athwipe 733 advertised anywhere? I've been hearing about this since June from Scumbria but where is it?>>>

The 733 is a coppermine not an Athlon but nonetheless you are right....its very hard to find one.

RE <<How can they say Intel takes back the speed crown when AMD never produced?>>

You are still confused...AMD is the one that has produced its chips and in volume; its intc that is having the problems with yields, errati, volume, chipsets etc.

I think you better stick with the intc thread...this one may be a little too challenging for you.

Jim - RE: "why not, since words is all the produce anyway, has anybody even seen a Athwipe 733 advertised anywhere?"

There is no such thing as a 733MHz Athlon. All Athlons currently are separated by 50MHz from 500 - 750.

"I've been hearing about this since June from Scumbria but where is it?"

Would you mind posting the link when Scumbria mentioned a 7XX MHz Athlon in June? I don't remember anything of the like.

You do remember him saying that, right??? Otherwise you wouldn't have written that.
