SR, maybe the dealers who bought all those options from the Fed don't want them to expire worthless? <ggg>

seriously, what's brewing is Y2K and what the Fed is doing about it (i.e. print money at breakneck speed). whichever way you slice it, event or non-event, the debt markets just can't bring themselves to like it.

of course, the Nasdaq market and the darlings of speculation therein, make like nothing's happening...this is complacency at it's finest.
