RocketMan---only advantage to common----taxes----namely, common stock doesn't pay tax until sold----Leaps must be "rolled over"-------if you really believe in a stock, like Q----you might consider 2002 Leaps to stretch out the tax consequences.

You have asked the right question? Why buy common instead of Leaps?------to me, it doesn't make sense----but most people don't understand options, fear them, and think them much more complex than they really are-----------common stocks, like Leaps are a "bet"------you essentially are betting that the stock is going "UP" not DOWN (unless you buy puts)----------and that bet will be born out within a year, don't you think??? I do. If it doesn't work right in a year----I don't want to wait any longer.
