Peter---you obviously have never played options on Q---I purchased a Jan 200 Call on Qualcomm, strike price 240 on the day of the last earnings report about 1/2 before close----I paid 18 3/4 or $1875 plus $27 in commissions: for a grand total of $1902-------that option, although I sold it already for a quick $10,000 profit----is now worth $22,750. So, please don't tell people not to do something which you obviously neither have done, nor understand. Let them do their own study. Farf

<hogs go to slaughter> Peter, couldn't agree with you more. Options are really super, but novices WILL get burned in options. Sure, this Raging Bull market that we've been in, combined with a young Gorilla with huge news of late, makes option plays seem like a no-brainer. Heck, even I have been dabbling in a fair amount of calls myself, even though I'm LTB&H. However, things will not always be so rosy, and those of us that aren't expert in these plays will lose a bunch. Not wanting to put a damper on our party, just wanting to at to sound a mild alarm to be careful. edit: wow-up18 points @ 9:43!
