Soyo To Kick Off 2000 With 10 New Motherboards

Soyo Inc. will kick off the new millennium with a slew of new motherboards supporting next- generation CPUs, chipsets and peripherals.

The company, based here, will launch boards for VARs building PCs based on Intel Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. chips and Internet appliances. The new products are scheduled to become available the first week of January.

AMD last fall also suffered supply issues, in motherboards to support its Athlon chip. Boards now appear to be in steady supply, including Soyo's new SY-K7AIA. The ATX form factor board is expandable with five PCI slots and two ISA slots. The board costs $145.
