You underestimate the power of unlimited bandwidth. You might find that all these quaint usages of the past disappear in superfluity.

The assumption that usage will always rise to capacity is based on observation, not on principle. Extrapolation of empirically determined laws has been quite disastrous for physics. It is the nature of things to be something else than they appear and it is well-known that sure-fired empirical truths in economics and engineering have a habit of becoming exactly false.

The ability to transfer data is currently rising far faster than the ability to use what is transferred. This view is not widely held yet, but I've heard from some of our locals that tbit transfers FTTD are not too far away. I challenge you to figure out how to use that width.
