Tokyo Joe's Charity Fund Donates $47,000 to International Justice Mission

Business Editors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 1999--Tokyo Joe's Charity
Fund, organized by Tokyo Joe's Societe Anonyme, the stock alert
service at url: tokyojoe.com, has made a $47,000 donation
to the International Justice Mission. James J. Bjorkman, CEO of Tokyo
Joe's Societe Anonyme, recently presented the check in Arlington,
Virginia to IJM President Gary Haugen.
IJM, as stated on its web site at www.ijm.org, "is a Christian
ministry, led by human rights professionals, that helps people
suffering injustice and oppression who cannot rely on authorities for
relief." It was featured on 60 Minutes II on November 23, 1999. Mr.
Haugen estimated that the donation would free 500 bonded children in
India.
Tokyo Joe, in a letter accompanying the donation, stated: "We
learned about your organization from the tv piece that aired a few
weeks ago. The story affected us deeply. We were heartened that an
organization such as yours is dedicated to alleviating the suffering
of the helpless children of India.
"Our organization is a growing web-based stock alert service that
currently has approximately 3500 members. They come from all walks of
life and from around the world. Many of our members were also touched
by the IJM story, and after we announced that the charity would donate
to you, they opened their hearts. All of us are grateful for the
chance to help in this way."
Donations swelled after Tokyo Joe's Charity Fund announced IJM as
the recipient. "We began the fund on October 23, 1999, and to collect
and donate $47,000 in under two months was a tribute to our members'
generosity," Mr. Bjorkman said. "People opened their hearts and made a
real statement."
"It is truly a wonderful thing that so many SA members took the
time and effort to send in their checks of $50, $100, and more to help
horribly oppressed children," Mr. Bjorkman added.
Tokyo Joe's Charity Fund's goal is to help children in need. For
