Doug,
A friendly word of 'warning': In a few years time, you'll find technology related to LCD (bright or not) surpassed by VRD (Virtual Retinal Display). Microvision (MVIS) is a developing company (Seattle), capitalized just under 200 mill., but will be producing and selling their amazing displays by the end of 2000.

VRD is beaming light directly into the eye, painting the image directly on your retina -without the cumbersome screen. Awesome perspectives when mobile phones, wearable computers, cockpit environments, medical, military and more areas are considered.

Very exiting, IMHO.
