Y2k remains a bit of a wild-card though, especially now that no-one cares about it anymore, something i find actually quite incredible.

It seems like it's shaping up to be a little like an upcoming meeting of the Fed....no one really knows what is going to happen till it happens. It won't be particularly devastating in the long term but could disrupt things in the short. Some money will probably leave the market on 30-31 December just in case. Much like money leaves the market the day before a Fed meeting.

If you recall there wasn't much effect in the markets or globally on 9/9/99. While 01/01/2000 might have a larger potential, a week after the event I doubt it will even be a news story.
