Nancy I heard that joke a few years ago... When you tell jokes involving God they are bound to be "sensitive" material at best. I think I have told joke involving God to very close people but none that involved imitating those who blaspheme God's name. The "hawiian" salute joke has been used on movies etc. It is nothing at best minor compared to the stuff I hear at work and have to reprove people for. I get tired of telling people to stop using God's name in vain. They usually say 'Oh right , sorry.' but it is cheap as in 'Oh ya I forgot your that way' They sometimes even roll their eyes... It is an insincere apology for a very grave sin because God has not granted them anything spiritual within. They are unholy and so they are fountains of unholy speech against God and their fellow man. Jokes about it are not really fitting in my mind and will likely always bring you a rebuke about keeping God's name Holy. Your Joke involved portraying a man breaking the 3rd commandment. You asked what I thought I have told you. We must not only keep from misusing God name but Jesus taught us that we must promote the Holiness of His Name.... " OUR FATHER who art in Heaven Hallowed be thy Name Concerning dogs... I do not know how you got saved but I do get tired of the " love them into the kingdom mentality" If a man acts like a swine and talks like a swine then he is probably only a duck? People avoid the Word of God and insist on binding my conscience according to their "thoughts" on what should be done. You think that telling a man he is a swine will send him to hell. I tell you he will go to hell because he is a swine and not because someone noticed and said so. We do not save anyone. Your understanding of salvation on this point is carnal! Do you honestly think that God's elect can be lost because someone offended them? Do you honestly want me to believe that the Holy Spirit is weaker than satan or the flesh and the wrong word spoken by anyone at any given time may cause a man to lose his soul? Is it really that IFFY ????? Men lose their souls because they refuse to repent even when warned. Nigil will go to hell. The only hope for him is for him to repent and humble himself and receive God's Word and the Gift of Salvation in Christ IF Christ even offers it to him. Can you imagine Jesus saying in the day of Judgement... Well Nigil you go to hell because Brian Valentine offended you with his approach and failed to intellectually and emotionally captivate you by his above average social graces? To me that is Carnal thinking... What happened to: Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Luke 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Was God not happy with John the Baptist's witness? I'm sorry Nancy... I do not buy this stuff. I do indeed Judge Nigil to be "unworthy" of my time. Christ has made me a judge. He has called me to judge all things: 1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. I am not the pig or the scoffer. I believe God and it is counted unto me as Righteousness. You come close to crossing a line with these comments Nancy where you befriend the wicked and condemn the elect. There is layed up for me a crown of Righteousness in Heaven that I will receive from the Lord. Those who mock God's word are the scoffers Nancy not those who rebuke them. I am far from insecure in my faith and it is probably for that reason I have both the ability and the confidence to make these judgements as Christ commanded me to make. Everyone wants to "say" I am wrong no one can prove it from scripture nor will they exegete the verse I quote concerning the swine and dogs. Jesus plainly said there are swine and dogs.. I did not make that up. Jesus also commanded me to recognize them and not to cast what He has graciously given me to them. I am commanded to kick the dust off my heels toward those who do not respect God nor His messengers of which I am one. Jesus said if men do not love Him then they can not love His Father because He is just like the Father. Guess what... I am like Jesus as well... If you do not like me you may have bigger problems. I asked Alan to explain a scripture and Dan not one of you can and I knew you could not. This is a commandment that I am now giving you and them in Christ's Name. Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. You will be required to "judge" in order to obey Jesus in this but you are called to obey Him in it. Take care.
