Kash, <And instead of tweaking the core further they will run with an optimized front end in Q1 2001. Similar to the optimized front end they have been running on the 0.25 process. This should run at lower voltage /power and enable another 20% jump.> I see where you are coming from. I wonder if Intel will give AMD the luxury of not doing core tweaks - especially if Wilamette ramps per plan. And to put some perspective on the 1.7G: the number came up in the context of how far the Athlon core can be pushed to take on Wilamette. Chuck
