Morgan raises Telecoms-From Yahoo

RESEARCH ALERT-JP Morgan raises
telecom equipments

NEW YORK, Dec 21 (Reuters) - J.P. Morgan Securities said on
Tuesday it raised price targets on four telecommunications
equipment stocks.

-- said raised the price target on Nortel Networks Corp.
(Toronto:NT.TO - news) (NYSE:NT - news) to $125 from $85,
raised Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT - news) to $165 from $120,
raised Qualcomm Inc. (NasdaqNM:QCOM - news) to $570 from $460, and raised Foundry
Networks Inc. (NasdaqNM:FDRY - news) to $360 from $225.

-- said does not expect any major unforeseen impact from year 2000 issues. Expects the
telecommunications equipment stocks to post healthy December quarter results.

-- said capital spending by telecommunications companies remained robust in the fourth quarter and
should remain so in 2000.

-- said wireless handset and infrastructure, ATM switching, IP routing and optical transport systems
will be the products that drive revenue growth in the December quarter.

-- said focus in 2000 will be on new product introductions by major vendors looking to compete
against new entrants. Also, new companies will be trying to maintain technological advantage.
