Ex-Keefe, Bruyette CEO charged with insider trading
NEW YORK, Dec 21 (Reuters) - A former chairman and chief executive officer of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods has been charged with insider trading for giving tips about potential bank mergers to a porno actress, according to court papers made public on Tuesday.

James McDermott Jr., the former CEO who now works at investment bank Allen & Co., was charged with securities fraud and perjury in Manhattan federal court for giving non-public information to Kathryn Gannon, also known as Marylin Star.

Motley Fools on the CNN tube hyping AOL and telling everyone to put their kids in it so they can be millionairs. I haven't used tehm as a contrarian indicator in over a year but they used to make me good returns doing the exact opposite of whatever they said. I will have to watch AOL over the next couple weeks to see if they are still batting zero. <ng>

ROTFLOL...It is cheaper than rewriting the code.

German ministry of Justice did a trial run of it's systems yesterday, which promptly led to a total power outage lasting several hours. a day earlier it was stated in a press release that they were 'fully prepared'.

Lesson: Do the test, THEN issue the press release. Not the other way around.

Europe disappoints me. I would have expected better from them. Did they overlook that the last millenium change resulted in the Dark Ages?
