Elmer - "Where are you getting this from? Some us a link that says BAPco uses ANY SSE optimizations."

Here's a list of applications BAPCo SYSmark 2000 uses. I think Adobe uses SSE, but I'm not sure about the others.

SSE optimized BAPCo , the facts.

*Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 4.0, optimized for Pentium II (MMX), Pentium III (SSE/SIMD) and Alpha MVI multimedia implementations (slated on Microsoft feature list of 4.0 codecs)

*Naturallyspeaking : The first program to support SSE, and known to have a huge advantage over non-intel cpu's when comparing the times achieved. That also is why it is included in the benchmark set anyways, Intel knew it would make the score so much better for them if this single program would be in the suite, they could pre-hand calculate the performance advantage they would get. And you bet intel has a nice hand to "stur in the pot" , as is also said on the BAPCo faq ("BAPCo's method of designing benchmarks focuses on an actual PC user's level of usage. This guideline will be followed by all participating members in benchmark development groups")

*adobe photoshop is highly enhanced for use with SSE
"Normal, Lighten, and Darken blend modes offer improved overall responsiveness when painting or compositing.
Converting images between color modes can be done more quickly. Distortion filters show dramatic speed increases.
A revised version of the Lighting Effects plug-in provides
substantially faster rendering of 3D lighting effects."

I do not know anything about Corel products supporting SSE, I will look into that .

Michael.

Elmer, I guess Mike Dakota shot you right between the beady little BAPCO eyeballs there with those revelations about just how deeply SSE optimised those benchmarks were.
As they say, SUSPICIONS: "CONFIRMED"
Better luck next time.
Hey, we know Intel is a marketing Company and the first thing they learn is how to lie and how to deny.
Now let us see Elmer's deniability attempt here.....we have seen the lies.
