Jim re:A Dell 800 Mhz Floppermine ordered today WON'T ARRIVE UNTIL 2/7/00!

Read the message, will ya.

We estimate that your order should ship on or before: 02/07/00

Seems to me 7 weeks is the worst case & probably conservative so as not to upset any more customers this Christmas <gg>.

Gee, with all the documented problems Gateway is having with Intel, why would they go ahead and announce a PIII 800???
What happened to AMD? Poor little AMD used as a bargaining chip once again???

Jim, re: "So you busted my chops about the availability of 800Mhz Floppermines"

You said:
"I predict that only Dell will have 800s into the end of January."

It looks like you are busting your own chops.

re: "Intel is scrambling and they have even sucked Dell and Gateway into the black hole..."

Where do you get this stuff? Sucking Dell and Gateway into a black hole????

Intel is a company that makes MP's. They've got new ones; they sold them to their customers. Simple.

If Mr. Grove was right, and "Only The Paranoid Survive", you should live forever.

John

BTW - Intel wouldn't negotiate an exclusive agreement based on supplying 800 MHz processors. They know, from MSFT's current problems, that the DOJ frowns on that type of behavior.
