You need an ethernet card for a Mac. Most techs carry them for PCs only. Call your local CompUSA; I got mine from a mailorder house in NY, overnight delivery. Kind of strange - one team handled everything for me (but I don't have RoadRunner): the installer, who worked for the cable company, and a tech.

So I'm not crazy, I told the @Home people that I'd make sure the computer had Ethernet up and running before the tech gets there tomorrow. The last thing I want is some $7/hour guy inside one of my computers.
