It's uncanny that you mentioned that, since I've been looking to do a comparative on the differences between RR's approach to the world and that of ATHM's. There are some inherent inefficiencies in not sharing that are irrefutable and should be rather obvious, when you think about it. Although, even the AKAM approach seizes resources and makes them unavailable to others on an instantaneous event-driven basis.. but not for all time.
