Japan Dell Markets Computers With Fastest Pentium III Chips

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Dell Computer KK, the Japan arm of Dell Computer Corp., on Tuesday began marketing computers featuring Intel Corp.'s latest 750MHz and 800MHz Pentium III processors.

By employing chips that are faster than Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s Athlon processor, Dell aims to unearth demand among users of advanced applications, such as 3-D image software.

Prices start at 276,800 yen for the basic configuration of the Dimension XPS B800r. The Dimension XPS T750r is priced at 188,800 yen and higher.
