The stock really hit the wall at 4.75. For a minute there it looked it was going to blow through.

Mark,

I need to respectfully and humbly disagree with you (in public:)) on why the increase in price of GMGC today. I know, I should have listened to you on INVX and HTCH. Well, one of these days I have to be right. Maybe that day is today.

I assume that you read the article on Gen Mot and AOL. I think one has to answer these questions:
1. Who is in control of OnStar and who will ultimately make any decision regarding this service? Is it GM, AOL, or GMGC?
2. Why is AOL going to bed with GM? Is it because of Hughes (DirectTV, bandwidth, etc)? Will ISPs or network providers ultimately control what is accessed? Is the barrier to ISPs greater than the barrier to providing the bandwidth? Hawk clued me in on that one:)
3. Would GM accept two platforms that are not compatible with one another? AOL provides the content and GMGC provides the VUI and/or Kenya technology. For the life of me I wouldn't be able to understand if GM decided to go with AOL for EMAIL and other web content if GMGC would not be able to provide the VUI. Why would GM want basically two VUIs, SR engines, or TTS platforms or programs? I think that AOL will open its proprietory technology to GMGC or GMGC will provide the platform for AOL to implement the platform on its (AOL) system. It doesn't make sense to me if AOL and GMGC are not compatible. My one caveat is that I am a poor dirt farmer with little knowledge in the tech field.

I guess what I am saying is that I strongly believe that the movement today was associated with the GM/AOL article.

I guess time will tell. Take care.

Kurt
