What will the fed do?
Well, today they did nothing...just in case Y2K slows down the economy. If Y2k passes and the economy keeps accelerating then look for Greenspan to feel free to hike rates and put on the brakes...
This would happen about the end of January at the earliest...that would be an opportunity to take profits. And we both know there is a lot of profit out there to take...and the markets might even be a lot higher by then!

Off topic Y2K ...

I'm filling my cars a week early just in case the altruistic oil companies decide to jack the price as the 'end-of-the-world' crowd load up next week.

I'm booking my tables early because all the 'cubicle-slaves' will want to party after and it'll be hard to get a decent reservation.

I'm practicing writing 00 instead of 99 on my cheques.

As far as investing, I'll take choice (a).

Cheers, PW.
