"On the other end of the acquisition spectrum (i.e. difficult, large, and potentially industry-rocking) is Inprise Corporation. Formerly known as Borland, Inprise is, even more so than Corel, a beautiful example of an old software giant struggling to recover from Microsoft's blows, despite a great technology portfolio. I've always argued that development tools are the key to the development of new software markets, so perhaps we should consider how an Inprise acquisition or merger would look."
