Jim,
I am new to the AMD/iNtEL story: August.

Another story similar to kaps DELL order,
theregister.co.uk

"He said: "I placed an order for a Dell XPS "B" computer on the 16th of November. That was the day after it was announced that Camino systems were available. The original ship date was suppose to be the 17 December."

But, he says, Dell has now told him that shipments of the systems will not be until the second week in January, a full two months after he first placed the order."

Maybe everyone is making all of this up, we'll see with DELL and INTC next earnings announcement.

Stay tuned!

Jim, <Andy would have seen this coming and at least had a 133 MHZ chipset available...>

You mean just like Andy anticipated the impact of the sub-$1000 PC two years ago? Funny how that market is no longer a subject of discussion among the AMD supporters anymore.

Jim, Re: "Actually, the poor decisions started when Andy Grove retired and paranoia was replaced by arrogance and
complacency."

Maybe Intel's gone through a bad patch, but it sounds like the product lineup for next year, if executed well at all, will bury AMD again. How many lives do they have, 7, like a cat?

p.s., looks like Intel has also trumped AMD's best shot, Atholon, with Coppermine.
