OEI's Capital Budget

The projected 2000 program represents a 40 percent increase over 1999 anticipated spending of $356 million. Of the budget, currently 40-50 percent is allocated to Gulf of Mexico projects, 30-35 percent to international spending, and 15-20 percent to U.S. onshore programs. Exploration activities currently comprise approximately 35 percent of the amount.
