Standard & Poor's Announces Changes in S&P Indices December 21, 1999 06:10 PM NEW YORK, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, S&P SmallCap 600, and the S&P REIT Composite Indices: -- S&P MidCap 400 component Transocean Offshore Inc. RIG is acquiring Sedco Forex, a unit which will be spun off from Schlumberger Ltd. SLB in the S&P 500 Index). Immediately after the acquisition, Transocean Offshore will change its name to Transocean Sedco Forex Inc. RIG , and will be added to the S&P 500 Index after the close of trading on Thursday, December 30, 1999, replacing Helmerich & Payne HP . Helmerich & Payne will replace Transocean Offshore Inc. in the S&P MidCap 400 Index
