Onvia.com Inc. seek to raise $100 million in IPO
WASHINGTON, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Onvia.com Inc., an e-marketplace for small businesses to buy and sell services and products, filed on Tuesday with regulators to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering.

The e-marketplace also allows small companies to exchange information, access certain productivity tools and conduct the business through one centralized Internet site, according to the preliminary prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Seattle-based company did not reveal in a preliminary prospectus filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission how many shares it plans to sell nor in what price range. Those details are expected in later filings.

Onvia.com said it plans to use the net proceeds for working capital, funding operating expenses and possible acquisitions.

Internet Capital Group Inc. (NasdaqNM:ICGE - news) holds a 23.3 percent stake in the company, according to the filing.

The $100 million figure cited in the IPO filing was merely a basis for calculating the SEC registration fee, the company said. It has applied to list its shares on Nasdaq under the symbol ''ONVI'' (NasdaqSC:ONVI - news).

The underwriters include Credit Suisse First Boston, Hambrecht & Quist, Robertson Stephens, E*Offering and William Blair & Co.
