To finance my Christmas spending, I'm offering 1000 to 1 odds on Sir Earlie wiping the floor with his opponent.

Any takers?

Rules:

1) All wagers accepted in physical gold only. (No carry trade here, buddy-boy!)
2) All winning wagers (if any) paid out in US currency.
3) Inflation is a myth.

And in this corner...

Earlie - Re: "My oh my,...what a mistake I have made. To think that for so long, I had you pegged as an ignorant zealot when the fact that you have spent much time not only reading my posts but keeping them in a scrap book certainly changes my perception. Obviously there is more intelligence there than your posts would lead one to believe.

I am of course flattered that you are a closet "Earlie" follower. If I can assist in any way with keeping you abreast of my latest thinking (which I can now see is important to you), let me know. (g)

It also delights me that you repeated my complete post (word for word, and without a single spelling error,...splendid), in spite of the fact that it was mildly critical of your approach to posting. I can understand why you would feel a need to do this. Repetition is indeed a well recognized learning methodology. A few more times, and I'm sure that the content will no doubt start to sink in. Not to be discouraged, as it does take time to assimilate these more abstract concepts. I do apologize for using some words within the post that are indeed a bit difficult to understand. Words like "discourse", and "reasons", I know are not quickly internalized, given the circumstances.

Paul, I normally do not like to embarrass folks, but in this case, you go out of your way to ask for it. So if you are of a mind, let's you and I have a little "discourse", right here on the MB thread. You take the "Pro" side as to why Intel is such a wonderful investment and as to why the PC industry is in such wonderful shape. I'll provide the "con" (double meaning intended) stance. You can take as much space to explain why Intel's fundamentals are so compelling as you wish. No doubt you will want to show how wrong I have been in my (accurate as it turns out) predictions that PC revenues would fall precipitously, etc. I will even give you the opportunity to go first. To keep things on the up-and-up, I'll admit up front to the fact that perhaps I'm slightly better informed re Intel than the average bear. I will also state up front that I will enjoy making mincemeat of you if you are not as well informed as you ought to be, given the level of your commitment.

Care to take up the challenge? If so, I look forward to your first lengthy commentary. Or will you take the easy way out by just stating that the share price says it all (hoping that few recognize a mania for what it is)?

Put in simpler terms in case the words prove a bit obtuse, "put up or shut up". Back your big mouth with a bit of well reasoned argument rather than silly, condescending, shrill insults.

Looking forward to your reply and sharpening my sword,
I remain,
The Source of Your Obvious (and Justified) Admiration,

Earlie

P.S.
I have some large "Earlie" posters if you are interested in one for a wall of your den or what-have-you. Normally, I'm reticent to bring them to the attention of any but the "true believers", but since it is now obvious that you are, we can have one to you quickly via Fedex. Let me know. They are actually quite flattering and make me look younger than I actually am, so I know you will love it.

{==============================================}

Well - I see you revel in extensive, lengthy, long-winded, self-congratulatory prose.

Great.

Your post from 18 months ago concerning Intel proves to me and the rest of the world that you don't know SQUAT about Intel.

So you just go ahead and spew out your mega-comments predicting the demise of Intel - and I'll do just what I did before - hold Intel, occasionally buying more, and probably DOUBLE MY MONEY AGAIN over the next 18 months.

Paul
