well, i agree basically on that...but i have asked myself why the current account deficit and the massive monetary inflation have not yet led to to a sharply weaker trade-weighted dollar, and i can't come up with a satisfactory answer, except perhaps a new era oriented one that holds that the U.S. is attracting an inordinate amount of foreign investment because of it being the center of the tech revolution. i realize that eventually the economic imbalances must lead to an adjustment, my question is why hasn't it happened yet?
