Think Dell pays these guys off?

Chris, as Sherlock Holmes used to say, "cui bono?" - who could
benefit from this should be the first question to ask...

And all I can say is the timing of this is impeccable, a true counterattack by Mikey's bloodhounds... These "reporters" were
probably busy all day writing this up.

Hi Chris ... decided to come out of "lurk" mode. Read the article and hope that this is just some plausible speculation tying together the iPAQ launch with rumors that Inacom and Compaq are talking. You have to think that they've put all the stakes in the ground by now and we're just waiting for the "Big Top" to raise up.

To add my own speculative thoughts .... I'd like to see them lash up with FedEx, rent/buy space in FedEx's distribution centers and get the number of centers down to a lot less than 24. That way I can get my iPAQ shipped to me overnight and track it every step of the way! <grin>

Well <"or acquire a direct competitor, such as Micron Electronics.">> Someone should explain the diference to these guys between MU and MUEI. CPQ was looking at MUEI prior to the stock running from the 40s to the teens. MUEI makes sense..

Dear Chris,

>Think Dell pays these guys off?

Well,

Lindy Lesperance is the Technology Business Research analyst at CNET.

Joe Wilcox is a Staff Writer at CNET.

CNET's "Premier desktop sponsor" is Dell. Look at the top, right, a few inches down:

cnet.com

I'd say its pretty safe to assume both of these guys will go out of their way to cast doubt when it comes to CPQ. Should they say anything positive, their jobs might be on the line!

Conjecture, speculation, referring to an outdated SEC filing? They have been writing for the Yahoo! rumor loving zoo too long. So much for an above board, neutral bias journalistic account.

Articles like this do little to elevate CNET as a site to bookmark for quality, objective articles and reviews.

Regards,

Lynn
