Signotron signs pact with Sify Sutapa Raha Calcutta 21 December (Economic Times) SIGNOTRON India Ltd has tied up with Satyam Infoway Ltd to sell some of their noted security and encryption software in India, through the portal Satyamonline.com. Already occupying a considerable portion of the encryption software market in the US, the Calcutta-based Signotron will be launching its products in India by end-December. Signotron has developed various security software using the OET (online encryption technology), which are the only transparent (integrated with the operating system) packages available in the world. These products work across all windows platforms and come with the strongest encryption algorithm, the 448-bit blowfish, which theoretically is expected to take a couple of trillion years to crack. Signotron's flagship product Sigma 2000 - a complete security suite using the 448-bit key - has been selling in the US for more than a year now, under the brand name EMD Armor and the US airforce is one of Signotron's major clients. To begin with, Signotron will launch some of its Internet filtering, monitoring, firewall and online encryption products like Cywatch, MyPC, and Desktop Safety Pack in India. All these will be initially offered at a reduced price to get a proper foothold in the Indian market. Apart from selling on the Web, Signotron will directly market these to corporates, semi-corporates and government organisations. Centres will also be opened up at other regions for developing region-specific operations. Negotiations are also on for a tie-up with Pune-based anti-virus solution developer, Quick Heal, for launching a product bundled with encryption as well as anti-virus technology. economictimes.com
