Agree. I think the strategic point is completely missed by the analysts and commentators. With Q's runup and publicity, now finally the analysts et al are regularly getting the words "semiconductor" and "royalties" into the writeups. This last week or so, I've even seen the word "margin" appear once or twice.

But not once have I seen a strategic comment, such as "cementing in a big piece of the CDMA value chain" or "keeping Nokia from splitting off Europe from the rest of the wireless world".

Assuming the sale price is small, I expect to hear some negative rumblings from the clueless (e.g. Cramer or Acampora) about Q's "lousy" deal. IMO, the smaller the sale price, the more future commitments Q has built into the contract.
