Hi Doc,

>>We are moving to a new home and I no longer
>>have cable modem nor even TV cable at the
>>time. I can check in with my laptop on
>>56K but it is excrutiatingly slow.

Funny, I haven't had cable TV for 4 years now, so I miss out on all
the hype. I don't even have any idea right now how the mass media to
portraying the market.

>>I am a demographics bull on the market 'till about 2007 or so, but
>>the recent parabolic action in the COMPQ has me very skittish. I
>>am being very cautious, perhaps too much so!

I have to admit I have been too cautious for the last few weeks too.
I missed out on MRVC at 36 now 55 and VARL at 19 now 28. But, I don't have as much time as I used to watch the market right now and lack of diligence at these levels can cost you dearly. So given the level of risk I don't feel I am really missing out. Knowing when to take a break is key to keeping one's sanity and capital.

The reality is that I don't have to trade at this point and I think a lot of people are in this boat. It has been a great few years overall due to a gains in my investment portfolio. Any trading gains have just been icing on the cake. Isn't it funny how only a few years ago 12 percent average annual return of your money was considered a great return!

Besides, you are already enjoying the real rewards of market:the company of good friends and the time appreciate the moment. Have fun.

hi doc; sorry to hear you've been camping out with a 56k <vbg> Sounds like you miss the market a bit, in spite of being in the middle of a move. I have to confess to having done ok this past week <another vbg>

You really scared me when you said you had gone all cash last week because I had just decided against. However, the naz looks (eyeball) to have just popped out of its channel yesterday & I expect the consequence of that may be a move in the other direction.

Take a quick look at the last 2 day's In Play archives & you can read all about Juno. This is the third day!

BTW Do you have the new Worden program? Is that where you're doing those scans you mention? I was using the old one for scanning. Tried the new one when it first came out & didn't like the scanning part as well. I think maybe it's improved. Comments? Am about to be scanless :)

Hope your new place is super & has good July 4 barbecue facilities.

Dorothy

doc; I installed the new TC2000, checked over the scanning function; seems fine.
