Hi John:

OK...No doubt all stocks in every segment in this market sooner or later will trip and fall...I doubt anyone on this planet or any other for that matter would dispute your motherhood statement.

OK...The specific points you make have merit, but once again are out of context if applied only to AMD...

Within the context of the industry, some here (certainly one, anyway) have concluded based upon a superior product mix currently in place and estimated present value of the expected future income stream from revenues derived from this superior product mix, that at $30 AMD is significantly undervalued....One just can't find many equities in this bull phase of the general market that appear to be undervalued to the degree that AMD is! AMD provides flash memory products for the cellular phone industry and has the superior microprocessor architecture with abundant headroom!
No doubt market risk exists for all stocks in this market but AMD is now more fundamentally sound than at any time in its history...It is this fundamental strength that will ensure AMD outperforms the market over the next year and (although too early to predict at this time as is the case with all equities in this sector) possibly for many succeeding years. (Just maybe, AMD is the Linux of the microprocessor industry and Intel is the Microsoft)!

What I do know is that the vendors I talk to recommend nothing but AMD systems to any "open-minded" customers as they routinely, for a comparable system, run $200 cheaper than PWeeIII systems. The same vendors also are quick to point out that not all customers are yet open-minded...kind of a microcosm of Dell and GTW!

John - RE: "But sooner or later, AMD is almost 100% sure to slip, trip, and fumble the ball."

How long do you think "probably soon" is?

RE This quarter MAY be wonderful for AMD, I hope it is. But sooner or later, AMD is almost 100% sure to slip, trip, and fumble the ball.

John, of course there is another possibility....AMD may not fumble at all.

Now I wonder what the consequences of that would be?
