"He spoke of landsmen pent up in lathe and plaster,
tied to counters, nailed to benches, clinched to desks,
how they must get just as nigh the water as they possibly can without falling in. And there they stand.

For us, we've traded safety to hear the Lorelei sing.

Solstice moon looks on,
white caps trapped in motion,
frozen faces remember

Ocean ov'r land
Sea of faces
Sees each other
as different
As we see them alike
..
All Together they cover-
cold and unforgiving
Alone reveals Nature's unique creations
intricate delicate
a beauty in each and everyone
Is that the answer
To look at yourself in the midst of masses
So small yet complex, insignificant as powerful
As one is to many and many to a snowflake in the short time a snowflake has
been made part of the greater world..
Or is the answer..
To suck down a brew
On a moon-lit evening during a cruise in the Caribbean and forget about everything.
Everything
and
nothing
its all the same after a few.

Especially O'Keefe's 'Hi-Test'
after a few of them I could walk barefoot on all those faces
and grin when my toes freeze off.

Best wishes for the Holiday Season.
