Just nitpicking,
From 8/82 low of just under 777 to 8/87 high of 2736 the Dow more then tripled. Like a 252% gain.
Anyway, now that we have four letter stocks in the Dow maybe we should look at the power of three rather then the measly times three? -g-
But seriously, January 2000 looks like the perfect candidate for the not very surprising surprise.
If Jan ends down then it's all over. I mean it.
