I have been intrigued, for years, that most of the men I dated seriously, as well as my husband, consider "A Man For All Seasons" to be the greatest movie of all time. Not just "one" of the greatest movies of all time, "the" greatest movie of all time. What intrigues me is whether this says something about the type of men I am attracted to, or vice-versa, or whether it's something completely different.

Yes, it's a good movie. It also sugar-coats Sir Thomas More, who is, of course, a saint, although I think for political reasons. I think the entire conflict was far more political than theological. The Catholic church was far too involved in power politics. Anyone with eyes could see that. It was a misuse of religion to use it to crush political opposition. None of that comes out in the movie.
