Some of us are interested in your take on the performance advantage that Spitfire would get from 64 k victim cache for L2 given that it already has 128k L1. By the way no leaks on the latency of L2 yet.

Since there is little overlap between a victim cache and the L1, the performance gain is potentially good. If a particular benchmark requires more than 128K of cache, even a 64K victim cache can be quite effective. On the other hand, transaction processing benchmarks will show very little gain, because of low data reuse.
