Knowing IMJ, even if he DID NOT sell to Nok, given the interest in the division, I am sure he sold it to whoever with just as many compelling reasons. I can't see anyone who would be willing to pick it up for more reasons than Nokia, except perhaps those that stand to gain everything in China. AT&T is very present there now, but if China is demanding that ONLY CDMA be used by 2002, it would make sense for AT&T to buy the divisoin and also use the brand name, since they are not in the handset business today, but have tried many times to get there.

MY firm vote is for Nokia in this all for the R&D and a couple of others for the mfg.
