perhaps opening it up to split again later in the year if the stock continues to rise - or open up the number available to issue stock options to officers. the Board of Directors of a company has to approve the total number of potential shares outstanding and report that number publically. if they were to leave it at 20 million, following the split, there would be no shares to offer on subsequent splits or option packages...or warrants for that matter.
