Patagonia and MDHM have a contract in place. Medinah management wants Patagonia to continue working with them and has the right to demand the same over the duration of the contract. What I read is that Patagonia took the project because of the promise of the property but is frustrated at management's inability to live up to promises/expectations. Must have been a battle for Patagonia to issue that statement likely against management's wishes.

I can't believe that their announcement could mean anything to anyone today.

I guess it would mean quite simply that they are also getting tired of the broken promises and the missed timelines.
