Jeff, Fremont housing has always been high. It's a nice place to live with a great climate, but still close enough to San Francisco. I think being the last city on BART is the catbird seat. I never owned a house there. My parents did, but they sold at the top of the crazy real estate market and then watched as it hit another 500 subsequent tops. <g>

The schools were excellent in Fremont and Newark when I lived there. Union City is another subject. My first year of high school, I had to go to James Logan. Fortunately, Newark High was built the next year. Now my old high school is a junior high. Oh, well, it looked too much like a prison, anyway. <g>
