True, if its under 480 I'll sell another put tomorrow and buy another 100 shares before I get on the road to the snow and relatives.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

I'm wondering why a price for the division was not included in the initial news of the KYO deal.

From 2nd Conference Call, (now playing)

corporate-ir.net

KYO previously acquired chips from another supplier.

Royalty arrangement with KYO remains unchanged.

Comfortable with current estimates of 95½

A $30M one-time charge this Q for sale associated expenses.

Diamond,

It saddens me to see some folks - not sure the word is "insecure" or "ignorant' or both - were looking for a glamorous international brand name as Q*s handset partner to boast their own confidence.

Why don't they just sell their Q* shares and move back to DELL or wherever they came from.

PS: "K" is an excellent strategic choice, and I endorse this decision wholeheartedly.

Q & A concall on now, said they were "comfortable" with current .95 estimates for 4th quarter. Deal will be immediately accretive upon close for 2 reasons:

1) Will be selling chips to third party and not internal division

2) Dumping of money losing business

In the past "comfortable" has meant they will beat the estimate by a decent amount.

Qualcomm handset brand can be used on existing phones, but whether newer phones will carry the "Qualcomm" brand is up to KYO - not decided yet.

IJ on Nokia - did continue discussions with a handful of companies right to the end. Best deal all around was KYO to advance CDMA and for employees. Still hope for "positive" relationship on ASIC chips with Nokia.
