That was a very informative posting, John. Thank you! I am going to take a closer look at KYO's site later this evening.

In a short time, you have really come up with quite a bit!

Best regards,

Lynn

Kyocera observations

Kyocera has a very nice CDMA handset in Japan: C102K. It is a mere 69 gm, 2.4 oz!!!!.
Specs say 150 minutes and 150 hours standby. Also 14.4 kbps modem.
Available in pink or silver. Has built-in calculator, and calender.
Very flexible ringing selection with builtin Mission Impossible theme and
Anniversary, and JASRAC (which I think is the programmable ringing. )

And if the electronics market keeps booming as it is, they may be able to control
all production, 'coz they make the capacitors. That is how I
can always tell when the
electronics field is hot, when you cannot buy capacitors. And that is starting to
be the case.

A great choice and a great reason to visit Kyoto again. Stop by the temple for some
excellent yudofu.
